- Open Among Us, and select ONLINE.
- Click the name field at the top of the screen.
- Delete the current name.
- Click the blank name field, and select Paste.
- Make sure you pasted only the dot from step one, then tap OK or the checkmark to continue.
- Tap Create Game to start a new game.
Click Find Game to look for a public game.
Click Join Game to join a private game. - Once you start playing, your name will appear as a tiny dot.
How to Have a Blank Name Among Us in Local Games
Although you cannot have a blank name while playing online, you can still have a blank name when playing local games. When playing locally, it’s a great way to get the upper hand on your friends, but you’re unlikely to fool them for long.
In Among Us, you can get a blank name by following these steps:
- Copy this blank space: “ㅤ”Only copy the blank character between the quotation marks, not the quotation marks themselves.
- Open Among Us, and tap LOCAL.
- Click the name field at the top of the screen.
- Delete the current name.
- Click the name field, and paste the blank character from the first step.
- Verify that you pasted only the blank character, and click OK or the checkmark to proceed.
- Tap Create Game to host a local game or select a local game from the list.
- Start playing Among Us with no name.
Why Play Among Us With No Name?
The only real advantage to playing with no name is that it’s a bit more difficult to notice or identify while you’re playing. Those used to seeing recognizable names above other players’ heads may become confused and gloss over a player with no name. As an imposter, it may be easier for you to kill other players or make imposters more likely to pass you over.
There are, however, some limitations to playing without a name. While it may help a bit during a fast-paced game, you won’t fool focused players. Other players can even call you out based on your color, the fact that you have no name, or by describing the dot or other special character you’ve used.
Why Can’t You Play Among Us Online With No Name?
Among Us developer Innersloth patched out the capability to play with a blank name in the game’s iOS and Android versions. Windows only allow names to contain letters and numbers.
If the iOS and Android versions ever receive the exact treatment, the option to play Among Us with a blank name or a dot for a name will be eliminated from the game altogether.
