FFXIV 5.41 The Diadem & Ishgardian Restoration Guide

The Diadem now offers awesome rewards with Patch 5.41 for Final Fantasy XIV! We’ll cover gathering and fishing in the Diadem in this FF14 guide, along with the rewards you can earn, including the Skywalker’s set and Big Shell mount.

In Final Fantasy XIV, the Ishgardian Restoration and the Diadem have a lot to offer with Patch 5.41 and new rewards.

In this guide, we’ll cover the mechanics of the Diadem as well as the rewards available in exchange for Skybuilder’s Scrips.

When you unlock the Ishgardian Restoration in Ishgard via the “Towards the Firmament” quest, you’ll have access to the Firmament. The objective of this zone is to guide you through the reconstruction of Ishgard and, more importantly, lead you to the Diadem and your rewards.

To unlock the Diadem you simply need to use an Lv.10 gatherer class and speak to Augebert in the Firmament (X: 11.4 Y: 14.1). Follow the yellow exclamation point until you need to speak to Aurvael (X: 10.8 Y: 14). You will then be able to enter the Diadem with any of your Lv.10+ gatherers.

How to Unlock the Diadem – FFXIV 5.21 guide

If you return to The Firmament and The Restoration of Ishgard for this new round of fixes, you can unlock the new 5.21 Diadem by talking to Aurvael at the left-most tent when you enter The Firmament. He will explain how to use the new Aetheromatic Auger and send you on your way. From then on, just talk to him when you want to enter the Diadem.

Things are a bit more complicated if you’re a latecomer to the Restoration of Ishgard. You’ll need to have completed the Litany of Peace quest from Patch 3.3. That’s around the middle of the expansion. Things are beginning to calm down in The Holy See of Ishgard at this time. When relative peace returns to the city, you can head back to The Jeweled Crozier and accept the quest “Towards the Firmament” from the poster on the wall.

After gaining access to The Firmament, introduce yourself to the workers with icons above their heads and talk to Aurvael several more times. Once Auevael shuts his mouth and there are no more markers above other NPCs, you should receive an unlock notice.

Gathering in the Diadem

Within the Diadem, you will find numerous gathering spots, such as mineral deposits and fishing spots. The majority of gathering nodes seem to distribute the new resources at random, so that mining the same spot twice, for example, will not always yield the same materials.

Materials range in level from Lv.10 to 80 – the higher the level, the more scrips and ranking points you get.

In the Diadem, there are rare materials that are only available during specific weather windows: Umbral Flare, Umbral Tempest, Umbral Levin, and Umbral Duststorm.

Getting new materials in the Diadem is not limited to gathering like you normally do. With the addition of a brand new weapon for gatherers, players will be able to charge their Ather gauge before unleashing an attack, defeating monsters, and getting materials from them.

Feel free to use this new Aetheromatic Auger as much as you like to get extra collectibles!

Approving Your Materials

Gathering resources in the Diadem will not allow you to use them yet. Your materials must be approved by Flotpassant in the Firmament in Ishgard (X 10.8 Y:14).

Once your materials are approved, you will receive Skybuilders’ scrips as well as the opportunity to use these materials in exclusive Ishgardian Restoration crafts.

Miners, Fishers, and Botanists can get approval.

NOTE: Unapproved materials cannot be traded or sold. Grade 2 materials, however, can be traded once approved.
